State laws will come into play.
In a long term lease, the landlord usually can’t evict you. On a month to month, he can give you notice to vacate in 30 days.
It all dependends on how your lease is written and what happens if the owner wants to sell the property and what your rights are.
On a lease contract, the landlord can not make the tenant move unless the lease has a provision for such an event. Without a contract, landlord only need give proper notice to vacate as defined by local landlord/tenant laws. Usually anywhere from 15 to 60 days.
